Speaking Across Conflict Workshop
Upcoming Event: Speaking Across Conflict Workshop - November 19, 2025 from 3:00-6:00 PM on campus. RSVP here.
Current Berkeley undergraduate and graduate students are invited to participate in the workshop: Speaking Across Conflict, part of the BLI Difficult Conversation Series. The workshop will be facilitated by Dorit Price-Levine, Campus Director of Mediation and Conflict Transformation and supported by Molly Cram, Executive Director of BLI. The workshop content was created by Resetting the Table.
The workshop will offer communication skill-building for charged conversations and a forum for dialogue across disagreement. Participants will exchange views and personal experiences, surface differences and commonalities, and practice communication skills for addressing differences directly and constructively. This will be a professional development opportunity as well as a chance to build community capacity to explore disagreements while strengthening relationships.
Past Event: Deliberative Polling - April 15, 2025
The first event under this series in Spring 2025 was a Deliberative Polling event on the use of standardized testing in University of California admissions. We partnered with the Deliberative Democracy Lab to host this event. An expert panel responded to students’ questions and engaged in discussions about the admissions process, a UC-specific test, and California policies.
